Job summary

Sunkeeper Solar seeks an experienced Solar Electrician to install electrical service equipment for commercial PV and energy storage systems in the NYC metro area. You will lead safety efforts, read complex plans, and coordinate with clients and crews to ensure quality installations.

Requirements include 5+ years on commercial sites, NEC knowledge, ability to lift 50 lbs, and travel across NYC. Procore experience is a plus, and a collaborative, safety‑minded attitude is essential.

Qualifications

Minimum 5 years of relevant electrical experience on commercial jobsites.
Able to read electrical and architectural plans.
Strong knowledge of the NEC and local codes.
Ability to travel to NYC metro area.
Must be able to lift 50 lbs and work outdoors in various weather conditions.
Solar installation experience preferred but not required.
Excellent communication with project managers and other trades.

Responsibilities

Install electrical service equipment, wiring, and devices for commercial solar PV and ESS systems.
Ensure electrical systems meet company standards, NEC, and local codes.
Lead job safety, participate in Job Hazard Analysis, ensure PPE is maintained.
Assist in crew support, staging materials, and site prep and cleanup.
Read and translate Sunkeeper drawings into physical layouts.
Troubleshoot electrical issues independently.
Operate tools (threader, core drill, conduit bender).
Utilize Procore for daily photos, RFIs, punch lists, drawings, and inspections.
