Job summary

Superior Skilled Trades, partnered with a leading utility-scale solar EPC company, is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support large-scale solar construction projects. This 100% travel role covers the Southeast, with projects extending to West Texas.

You will assist with budgets, schedules, forecasting, change orders, and cost tracking while coordinating with owners, subcontractors, and engineering teams to ensure on-time, on-budget project delivery.

Qualifications

• Must have strong communication, organization and attention to detail.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office.
• Associate degree or equivalent; Bachelor’s degree is a plus.
• Willing and able to travel 100%.
• Ability to read and understand construction plans and schedules.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the overall management and execution of large-scale utility solar projects.
• Support budgets, schedules, forecasting, change orders, PO tracking, and cost reporting.
• Coordinate with owners, clients, subcontractors, vendors, engineering teams and field personnel.
• Monitor construction activities and project progress against schedule and budget.
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly project reports.
• Assist with subcontractor and vendor coordination and management.
• Participate in pre-construction meetings and project coordination meetings.
• Assist with permitting, inspections, and QA/QC programs.
• Support RFIs, submittals, design questions, and field solutions.
• Troubleshoot construction challenges with field and engineering teams.
• Maintain and update project schedules; assist with cost forecasting.
• Monitor subcontractor performance to stay on schedule and budget.
• Assist with project closeout and transition to operations and maintenance.

Solar Assistant Project Manager

Company Based out of Fort Lauderdale, FL | Direct Hire | $80,000+ DOE | 100% Travel

Superior Skilled Trades is partnered with a leading utility-scale solar EPC company seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support large-scale solar construction projects.

This is a 100% travel position, primarily throughout the Southeast, with projects extending as far as West Texas.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the overall management and execution of large-scale utility solar projects.
• Support Project Managers with project budgets, schedules, forecasting, change orders, purchase orders, and cost tracking.
• Coordinate with owners, clients, subcontractors, vendors, engineering teams, and field personnel.
• Monitor construction activities, productivity, project progress, and schedule performance.
• Prepare and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly project reports.
• Assist with subcontractor and vendor coordination and management.
• Participate in trade pre-construction meetings and project coordination meetings.
• Assist with permitting, inspections, and project documentation.
• Support the administration and implementation of QA/QC programs.
• Assist engineering teams with RFIs, submittals, design questions, and field solutions.
• Work closely with field and engineering teams to troubleshoot construction challenges.
• Assist with maintaining and updating project schedules.
• Support cost forecasting and project financial reporting.
• Monitor subcontractor performance to help ensure projects remain on schedule and within budget.
• Assist with project closeout and transition to operations and maintenance teams.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years of utility-scale solar APM, Project Engineer, Field Engineer, or related construction experience preferred.
• Recent college graduates are encouraged to apply.
• Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related education is a plus.
• Strong communication, organization, and attention to detail.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Associate degree or equivalent experience preferred. Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related field is a plus.
• Ability to work effectively with owners, subcontractors, vendors, engineering teams, and field personnel.
• Ability to read and understand construction plans, specifications, schedules, and project documentation.
• Must be willing and able to travel 100%.

Compensation & Benefits

• Starting salary: $80,000+; negotiable based on experience. Please provide desired salary.
• 10% annual bonus + potential additional 10% kicker
