Job summary

ECA Power seeks a Design Engineer to join our team, leading engineering, estimating and optimization for large-scale solar and energy storage projects across the US. You will collaborate with project developers, civil engineers, and consultants while reporting to the VP of Engineering.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years in system design and a passion for renewable energy, with proficiency in AutoCAD, PV Syst, PV Case and Helioscope. This role offers diverse remote/hybrid options.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in system design, modeling, optimization and development of solar and energy storage systems.
  • Ability to analyze and evaluate new market opportunities for solar+storage and standalone storage projects.
  • Assist with developing internal tools for modeling and optimization of solar and energy storage projects.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills required.
  • Experience with AutoCAD, PV Syst, PV Case and Helioscope.
  • Tech savvy with MS Office (Excel) and Google proficiency.
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • Passionate about renewable energy and moving away from fossil fuels.

About the position:

The ECA Power team is expanding our development efforts on large scale ground mounts and energy storage projects across the US and we are seeking a Design Engineer to join our team. You will work alongside our team of project developers, design engineers, civil engineers and engineering consultants to develop, design and permit prospective large scale solar and energy storage projects. This position will report to the Vice President of Engineering and will serve as one of our solar and energy storage experts. As a solar and storage expert on the team, your role will be to lead the engineering, estimating and optimization of projects in our portfolio. This position is a strategic addition to our team as we continue have fun growing our portfolio of renewable energy assets.

Desired skills and experience:
  • 2+ years of experience in System Design, Modeling, Optimization, and Development of solar and energy storage systems.
  • Ability to analyze and evaluate new market opportunities for solar + storage and standalone storage projects for both DG and Utility Scale opportunities.
  • Assist with developing internal tools for both modeling and optimization of Solar and energy storage projects.
  • Self motivated and able to collaborate effectively with project developers, clients, consulting engineers, design, and technical personnel.
  • Excellent at communicating design concepts and leading meetings between clients, project engineers, permitting authorities, and consultants.
  • Experience with creating and submitting utility interconnection packages
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills are required.
  • Experience with AutoCad, PV Syst, PV Case and Helioscope.
  • Tech Savvy, MS Office (Excel in particular) / Google proficiency is a must.
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • Passionate about renewable energy and motivated to help move us away from fossil fuels a must!

The base salary range for this position is $85,000 - $125,000, while your actual salary may be below, within, or above this range depending on your location and qualifications.
