Job summary

CTL Engineering in Columbus, OH is seeking a Lab Technician / Geologist for our Soils Lab. This entry level or experienced role performs laboratory tests to determine soil properties and collaborates with engineers and contractors to provide essential soil information.

The position reports to the Soils Lab on Fisher Rd, with a plan to relocate to the new Corporate HQ in New Albany in late 2026/early 2027. CTL offers medical, life, disability insurance, PTO, ESOP and a 401K plan.

Qualifications

• Entry level/new grads in Geology are encouraged to apply.
• Experience in laboratory analysis and soil sample collecting.

Responsibilities

• Performs various laboratory tests to determine soil properties, such as particle size distribution, compaction, and strength.
• Accurately records test results and prepares reports, ensuring clarity and completeness.
• Operates and maintains laboratory equipment, ensuring proper calibration and functionality.
• Adheres to strict safety protocols and procedures in the laboratory environment.
• Collaborates with engineers, contractors, and other professionals to provide relevant soil information.
