Job summary

Ford Motor Company in Dearborn, Michigan seeks a Software Validation Engineer to support product development and system integration by creating automated tests, using Hardware in the Loop, and managing test environments. You will analyze requirements, vehicle components, and FMEA, and define test scopes and instrumentation strategies.

The role requires a Master’s degree in a related field and extensive experience with dSPACE and HIL testing, Agile/Safe practices, and ISO26262.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field and 5 years of experience in the job offered or a related software validation occupation.
  • 5 years of experience with each of the following: software testing methodologies and dSPACE Software Test Suite.
  • Knowledge of ASPICE SW development process and ISO26262 functional safety standards.

What you'll be able to do:

Software Validation Engineer - positions offered by Ford Motor Company (Dearborn, Michigan). Support the product development and system integration processes by developing test methods for automated execution, implementing tests using Hardware in the Loop equipment, documenting and reviewing execution reports, reporting incidents, and tracking software updates to fix issues. Has advanced knowledge in vehicle functional partitioning, electrical and communication architecture , Support the test project for assigned features, including integration/definition, scope/coverage, time, communications, and risk. Develop and negotiate the testing scope and statement of work, as well as support the tradeoff analysis of test requirements and test environment capabilities by defining test scope and instrumentation strategies. Analyze requirements, vehicle components electrical schematics, functional specifications, and FMEA documentation. Design, maintain, and execute test procedures in alignment with test design guidelines and strategy. Document test environments, automation, and vehicle variant management requirements, and implement and validate test environments, including automation and vehicle variant management solutions. Develop test procedures to validate the test environment (intake tests), and analyze test execution results to generate reports, document incidents, and drive them to resolution. Troubleshoot vehicle systems and test environment functionality to minimize false positive incident reports. Implement continuous improvement strategies for test designs, management, and execution processes.

Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field and 5 years of experience in the job offered or a related software validation occupation. 5 years of experience with each of the following skills is required: 1. Software testing or quality assurance methodologies, tools, and processes including dSpace Software Test Suite in Hardware and Software. 2. Software development life cycle - CMMI and agile process experience. 4 years of experience with each of the following skills is required: 1. Vehicle functional partitioning, electrical and communication architecture. 3 years of experience with each of the following skills is required: 1. ADAS/DAT feature testing support. 2. Software validation experience using dSPACE or NI HIL simulators. 3. dSPACE control and automation software suite experience. 2 years of experience with each of the following skills is required: 1. Scaled Agile Framework SAFE implementing agile practices and setting up SW development workflows at an enterprise scale. 2. Functional understanding of ASPICE SW development process and ISO26262 functional safety standard.

We are offering a salary of$123,157.00 - $164,234.28/yr.
