Job summary

UNCOMN is seeking a Software Tester 2-3 (Associate/Mid-Level) to lead high-level automation, collaborate with engineering, and support comprehensive testing across functionality, performance, and regression. You will participate in design reviews and set up robust test environments and cases while aligning with the company’s values and client needs.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years of related experience, strong SDLC knowledge, and excellent communication skills.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of related professional experience.
• Deep understanding of software development fundamentals, SDLC.
• Ability to perform complex tasks with minimal supervision and guidance.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Must be willing to obtain relevant certifications as required by future client or contract needs.
• Must be eligible to obtain a Secret clearance, granted by the US Government, which requires US citizenship.

Responsibilities

• Be at the forefront of high-level automation, applying top-tier quality engineering principles to ensure our products meet and exceed specifications.
• Collaborate closely with engineers and the development team, leveraging automated testing tools to craft streamlined test processes.
• Support the entire spectrum of product and system testing, including functional, component, system, performance, regression, and service testing.
• Participate in software team meetings, design reviews, peer reviews, and other relevant gatherings to shape project directions.
• Set up test environments, design effective test plans, and create test cases, scenarios, and usage cases.
• Provide technical and administrative direction, ensuring software development tasks align with goals.
• Make a lasting impact and be part of transformative projects while embodying UNCOMN's values.
• This is a primarily remote position with a current requirement to work onsite every Wednesday; additional onsite days may be required.

Requirements

• 2+ years of related professional experience.
• Deep understanding of software development fundamentals, requirements, and the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Ability to perform complex tasks with minimal supervision and guidance.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Effective time management, scheduling, and organizational skills.
• Must be willing to obtain relevant certifications as required by future client or contract needs.
• Must be eligible to obtain a Secret clearance, granted by the US Government, which requires US citizenship. The government also uses 13 adjudicative guidelines to determine an individual's eligibility.

Preferred

• Prior experience with SoapUI and Jira.
• Experience with the automated testing tool, TestComplete.
• Active CompTIA Security+ and/or Bachelor's Degree in a STEM-related course of study from an accredited college or university.
• Prior experience working in an Agile development environment.
