Job summary

Agile Defense is seeking a Software Tester to join our DoD-focused testing team. You will verify software across the application stack, perform functional, compatibility, and regression tests, and collaborate with developers to ensure quality deliverables.

You will design test scenarios, generate data, and create detailed test plans and reports for government clients. A proactive, communicative teammate who values precision will thrive in this role.

Qualifications

  • Requires an Associate's degree or 60 semester hours toward a degree, plus 2 years of relevant experience, or 4 years of experience.
  • At least 1 certification in area of specialization or ability to obtain within 6 months of start date.

Responsibilities

  • Test all aspects of the application suite: functional, compatibility, and regression testing.
  • Design and run test scenarios; ensure requirements/user stories are implemented.
  • Detect, report, and communicate defects found during testing.
  • Support test events: planning, coordination, and execution.
  • Define test scenarios and data; translate requirements into test cases.
  • Peer reviews of requirements and test documentation.
  • Create test metrics: traceability, defects, and daily reports.
  • Record anomalies and notify customers and management.
  • Document final test results in reports.
  • Create Test Plans and Reports using government templates.
  • Prioritize tasks to meet tight deadlines.
  • Collaborate with developers and testers; provide status updates.

DISA's mission is to conduct DODIN operations for the joint warfighter to enable lethality across all warfighting domains in defense of our Nation. DISA is a combat support agency of the Department of Defense (DoD). The agency provides, operates, and assures command and control and information-sharing capabilities and a globally accessible enterprise information infrastructure in direct support to joint warfighters, national level leaders, and other mission and coalition partners across the full spectrum of military operations. Joint Interoperability Test Command (JITC) Test Evaluation and Certification II Services (TEC II) contract provides technical solutions for the DOD in support of Test and Evaluation (T&E) services and T&E enabling services. JITC’s service requirements are categorized in the following areas: T&E Performance Requirements, T&E Capability Management Requirements, T&E Capability Requirements, and Overarching Contract and Task Order (TO) Requirements.

Responsibilities
  • Test all aspects of the application suite including functional testing, compatibility testing, and regression testing.
  • Design and run test scenarios, ensuring all requirements/user stories have been correctly implemented.
  • Assist with detecting, reporting, and communicating any defects found while testing.
  • Support test and evaluation events, including test planning and coordination.
  • Define test scenarios, identify and prepare test data, and translate requirements into detailed test cases.
  • Participate in peer reviews of requirements and test documentation.
  • Create test metrics such as requirements traceability matrix, defect and daily reports.
  • Ensure full accounting of anomalies and errors found in testing, notifying customers and management.
  • Record all initial findings and document final test results into applicable reports.
  • Generate Test Plans and Test Reports using Government approved formats and/or templates.
  • Prioritize and execute tasks within restricted timeframes.
  • Collaborate with developers and test team members; adhere to project schedules and milestones; provide status updates to Test Lead.
Qualifications
  • Associate’s degree or minimum of 60 semester hours of formal education working toward an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree and at least 2 years of experience, or at least 4 years of experience.
  • Degree must be in a relevant technical curriculum and experience must be related to the job duties.
  • Requires at least 1 certification in area of specialization or be able to obtain specified certification within 6 months of contract start date.

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with senior management, cross-functional teams, internal/external customers, and end-users.
Working Conditions
  • Contractor site with 0%-10% travel possible.
  • Possible off-hours work to support releases and outages.
  • General office environment, sedentary work with occasional standing and walking up to 10% of the time.
  • Standard office equipment available.
  • Maximum lifting of 10 lbs.; occasional lift/carry of small articles.
  • Physical requirements: standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motion, use of hands/fingers, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, seeing, pushing/pulling, climbing stairs or ladders, balancing.
