A leading IT staffing company in California is seeking a Software Test Engineer for a contract opportunity. The role involves debugging and supporting an advanced software automation environment, with a focus on Python programming. Candidates should have strong computer science fundamentals and experience with both Windows and Linux. This 18-month contract role offers the chance to work in an Agile Scrum team, enhancing software functionalities through rigorous testing.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of computer science fundamentals such as data structures and algorithms.
• Experience with object-oriented software design and development is a must.
• Programming in the Python scripting language is highly desirable.
• Experience with GUI development preferred.
• Both Windows and Linux expertise required.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development process desired.
• Experience with automated test environments/solutions is highly desirable.
• Experience with storage technologies (e.g. SATA/SCSI/PCIe) and drivers is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Debug & support engineer of advanced software automation environment.
• Development to requirements/acceptance criteria and unit-level testing.
• Collaboration with firmware/driver developers and test execution technicians.
• Involvement in debug/analysis/reproduction of complex test failures.
