Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in software testing for hardware-integrated systems.
• Experience in FDA/FAA regulated environments (medical devices preferred).
• Strong verification & validation, system-level testing, and risk-based testing.
• Experience operating in Agile/SAFe environments with PI planning and backlog ownership.
• Excellent communication and technical leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Define Test Strategy & Vision: own end-to-end test and validation strategy and translate customer and regulatory needs into scalable approaches.
• Product Ownership & Backlog Management: build and prioritize test backlog, write user stories and acceptance criteria, coordinate cross-team dependencies for PI planning.
• Acceptance & Delivery Accountability: formally accept features using defined acceptance criteria and DoD.
• Leadership & Collaboration: lead cross-functional teams across engineering, quality, regulatory and systems.
• Continuous Improvement: participate in Inspect & Adapt events to improve test effectiveness, coverage and efficiency.
• Stakeholder Communication: clearly communicate test and validation outcomes to diverse audiences.

Our client, a leader in the life sciences and diagnostics industry, is looking for Senior Software Test Engineerbased in Tucson, AZ.

Duration: Long term contract (Possibility of further extension)

Location: Tucson, AZ

Pay Range : $65/hr on W2

We are seeking a Senior Software Test & Validation Engineerwho will serve as the Product Owner for Test, owning the vision, strategy, and execution of the overall testing and validation campaign. This role requires a strategic thought leaderwho defineshowtesting enables product quality and regulatory compliance—not a hands -on tactical tester. The ideal candidate has deep experience testing software integrated with hardwarein regulated environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Define Test Strategy & Vision
  Own and drive the end -to -endtest and validation strategy, translating customer and regulatory needs into scalable, risk -based test approaches.

• Product Ownership & Backlog Management
  Build, prioritize, and maintain thetest backlog, author user stories and acceptance criteria, and coordinate cross -team dependencies in support ofPI and iteration planning.

• Acceptance & Delivery Accountability
  Formally accept features and user stories using definedacceptance criteria and Definition of Done, ensuring high -quality, compliant deliverables.

• Leadership & Collaboration
  Lead cross -functional collaboration across engineering, systems, quality, and regulatory teams while advocating forbuilt -in quality and customer -centric design.

• Continuous Improvement
  Participate in and influenceInspect & Adaptevents, driving continuous improvement in test effectiveness, coverage, and efficiency.

• Stakeholder Communication
  Represent test and validation outcomes internally and externally, clearly communicating complex technical information to diverse stakeholder audiences.

Required Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience insoftware testing for hardware -integrated systems
• Proven experience inFDA or FAA regulated environments(medical devices strongly preferred)
• Strong background inverification & validation, system -level testing, and risk -based testing
• Experience operating inAgile / SAFe environmentswith PI planning and backlog ownership
• Excellent communication and technical leadership skills
