Job summary

RiseMe is seeking a Software Test Engineer to ensure applications meet standards for quality, reliability, usability, security, accessibility, and performance. You will develop and execute manual and automated testing strategies for a mission-critical modernization project with strong CI/CD integration.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of software testing/test engineering experience.
• Experience designing and executing comprehensive software test plans, scenarios, scripts, and procedures.
• Proficiency with one or more test automation frameworks such as Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, NUnit, or xUnit.
• Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines, such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or equivalent.
• Experience with defect tracking, regression testing, automated testing, and software quality assurance practices.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to identify edge cases and develop comprehensive test coverage.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust Background Investigation.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, execute, and maintain test plans, test cases, scenarios, scripts, and automated test suites.
• Develop automated unit, integration, and regression testing to support comprehensive coverage of critical business functionality.
• Integrate automated testing into Jenkins/GitLab CI/CD pipelines and support quality gates to prevent failed builds from progressing to production.
• Identify, analyze, document, and track software defects through resolution using Digital.ai or similar defect-tracking tools.
• Collaborate with developers, Product Owners, and stakeholders to clarify requirements, establish acceptance criteria, troubleshoot issues, and improve software quality.
• Incorporate security scanning (SAST/DAST) and Section 508 accessibility testing into automated testing processes.
• Support performance, load, and stress testing to validate system reliability and performance for expected user volumes.
• Develop and maintain test documentation, automated testing procedures, pipeline test inventories, and deployment/testing plans.
• Participate in product design reviews and Agile/Scrum ceremonies, including sprint planning, demonstrations, and retrospectives.
• Monitor testing and quality metrics, defect resolution, test coverage, and release readiness, and provide results through project and sprint reporting.
• Ensure testing procedures are repeatable, traceable, and compliant with applicable project and quality standards.

Employment Type: Full-Time, 40 hours per week

Position Summary

The Software Test Engineer is responsible for ensuring software applications meet established standards for quality, reliability, usability, security, accessibility, and performance. Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, execute, and maintain test plans, test cases, scenarios, scripts, and automated test suites covering functional, integration, regression, negative, usability, and end-to-end testing.
• Develop automated unit, integration, and regression testing to support comprehensive coverage of critical business functionality.
• Integrate automated testing into Jenkins/GitLab CI/CD pipelines and support quality gates to prevent failed builds from progressing to production.
• Identify, analyze, document, and track software defects through resolution using Digital.ai or similar defect-tracking tools.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with AWS and cloud-based application testing.
• Experience testing applications in OpenShift, Kubernetes, or other containerized environments.
• Experience with security testing tools such as SonarQube, Veracode, or OWASP ZAP.
• Experience with Section 508 accessibility testing and compliance tools.
• Familiarity with NIST SP 800-53, FedRAMP, and DevSecOps practices.
• Experience with performance/load testing tools such as JMeter or Gatling.
• Experience testing complex web-based, case management, federal government, or law-enforcement systems.
• AWS Certified Machine Learning, ISTQB, or equivalent testing certification preferred.
