A leading IT staffing company in California is seeking a Software Test Engineer for a contract opportunity. The role involves debugging and supporting an advanced software automation environment, with a focus on Python programming. Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of computer science fundamentals such as data structures and algorithms.
• Experience with object-oriented software design and development is a must.

• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development process desired.

Software Test Engineer

On behalf of our client, Procom Services is searching for a Software Test Engineer for a contract opportunity in Folsom, CA.

Software Test Engineer Responsibilities

Debug & Support Engineer of advanced software automation environment in support of firmware and driver continuous integration testing. These software capabilities employ primarily a combination of Python and wxPython scripts. Duties include development to requirements/acceptance criteria, unit-level testing to ensure proper functionality, debug/support for software developed, and collaboration with firmware/driver developer and test execution technicians. Engineer will be part of an Agile Scrum team working on a bi-weekly sprint cadence. Will be involved in debug/analysis/reproduction of complex test failures to help isolate faults to automation software, test content or firmware/driver.

Software Test Engineer Mandatory Skills

• Strong knowledge of computer science fundamentals such as data structures and algorithms.
• Experience with object-oriented software design and development is a must.
• Programming in the Python scripting language is highly desirable.
• Prefer experience with GUI development.
• Both Windows and Linux expertise required.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development process desired.
• Experience with automated test environments/solutions is highly desirable.
• Experience with storage technologies (e.g. SATA/SCSI/PCIe) and drivers is a plus.
