Job summary

Cohere Technology Group LLC is seeking a Software Test Engineer to join an agile team supporting a government customer in transitioning applications to the C2S cloud environment. You will develop manual and automated tests, track defects in Jira, and work with developers and DBAs to ensure features perform as intended.

You will engage with business analysts and stakeholders to shape test plans and cases, and contribute to regression testing within an IC context.

Qualifications

• 8+ years crafting and executing manual test scripts for complex apps.
• 6+ years writing, automating, and running test scripts to ensure features work as designed.
• 6+ years developing reusable automated test scripts and maintaining them as applications evolve.
• Experience collaborating with business analysts, developers, and stakeholders to create test plans and cases.
• Experience in an Agile sprint environment using Jira and Confluence.
• Experience with software systems development in the IC community.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• TS/SCI Full Scope Poly requirement.
• Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS).
• Nice to have: experience testing financial applications; familiarity with automated testing tools.

Job description

Cohere is seeking a Software Test Engineer! As a member of an agile custom application development and integration team you will support working with the government customer to help shape a new phase of applications into the C2S cloud environment. You will work closely with a medium size contractor team and the customer to ensure that the development of approved requirements into features during each sprint operate and function as designed and align with approved user interface standards. You will use an automated and manual testing application methodology to accomplish this activity. To track and report defects, you will leverage the government ticketing system and work directly with developers and database administrators to describe and detail findings, and potential corrective courses of action.

• 6-years’ experience writing, automating, and running test scripts to ensure that every feature of the software solution functions as designed.
• 6-years’ experience developing reusable automated test scripts and maintain their compatibility with software as the application changes.
• Experience working closely with business analysts, developers, and stakeholders to create the test plans, test cases, and test scripts.
• Experience working within an Agile sprint development team environment using Jira and Confluence.
• Experience with software systems development in the IC community.
