Job summary

Northrop Grumman Defense Systems (NGDS) in Bellevue, NE seeks a Test Engineer Software to drive automated testing and quality across Agile teams. You will implement end-to-end test strategies using Eggplant, Selenium, or Playwright, collaborating with developers to deliver robust software.

Required are STEM degrees with tested experience; strong testing and Linux fundamentals; on-site work in Bellevue and ability to obtain DoD Top Secret Clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in STEM field; 2 years of software testing experience or Master’s with 0 years; high school diploma with 6+ years testing experience.
• Experience with end-to-end test automation and tools such as Eggplant Functional, Selenium, or Playwright.
• Experience with functional and regression testing.
• Familiarity with Linux OS basics.
• Strong interpersonal communication with technical teams.
• Ability to prioritize tasks to achieve project results.
• On-site in Bellevue, NE full-time; ability to obtain DoD Top Secret Clearance.

Northrop Grumman Defense Systems (NGDS), Bellevue, NE is currently seeking a Test Engineer Software. The successful candidate will demonstrate a broad skill set balanced between interpersonal and technical capabilities, achieving sustainable, high‑quality products. They will have a track record as an effective communicator and problem solver who is able to develop and maintain good working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

The selected candidate will participate in all Agile ceremonies with a concentration in software quality. They will work closely with other software developers accomplishing the following:

• Complete work independently and as part of an Agile team
• Support the team in completing necessary software on schedule
• Solve complex problems through innovative and creative solutions
• Collaborate with software designers and/or software engineers in the automated testing of software systems
• Regularly demonstrate progress to customers

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field with a minimum of 2 years of software testing experience, Master’s degree in a STEM field with 0 years of software testing experience, high school diploma with a minimum of 6 years software testing experience
• Demonstrated experience with end‑to‑end (E2E) test automation practices and tools such as Eggplant Functional, Selenium, or Playwright
• Demonstrated experience with functional and regression testing
• Familiarity with Linux OS basics
• Strong interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with technical teams
• Ability to prioritize and adjust tasks to accomplish project results
• Ability to prioritize and adjust tasks to accomplish project results
• Ability to work on-site in Bellevue, NE full-time
• Ability to obtain a DoD Top Secret Clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

• Familiarity with Agile project tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps (ADO), and Confluence
• Familiarity with Eggplant Functional
• Familiarity with C++ and Qt
• Familiarity with software security tools such as SonarQube and Clang‑Tidy
• Familiarity with Continuous Integration (CI) / Continuous Deployment (CD) pipelines
• Demonstrated use of IDEs (e.g., VS Code) and version control (e.g., Git)
• Current DoD Top Secret Clearance

Primary Level Salary Range: $72,100.00 - $108,100.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate’s experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
