Job summary

LV8D Solutions is seeking a Software Systems Engineer to serve as a key technical contributor across the system lifecycle, ensuring software solutions meet mission requirements and integrate with flight and ground systems.

You will collaborate with software and systems engineers, cybersecurity specialists, and program leadership to deliver reliable, mission-critical capabilities for aerospace programs in a fast-paced, on-site environment, with occasional travel and a TS/SCI clearance requirement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in relevant technical discipline.
• 9+ years of experience in software/systems engineering or software integration.
• Experience with the systems engineering lifecycle including requirements development, design, integration, test, verification, and validation.
• Knowledge of Agile, DevSecOps, and waterfall methodologies.
• Experience supporting complex integrated aerospace/defense/space systems.
• Strong written and verbal communication across diverse audiences.
• Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary engineering environment.

Responsibilities

• Translate stakeholder, mission, and system requirements into software and interface requirements.
• Develop and maintain software architecture products, ICDs, and system engineering artifacts.
• Support software requirements decomposition, allocation, verification, and validation across the lifecycle.
• Collaborate with flight/ground software, cybersecurity, and hardware teams for end-to-end system integration.
• Participate in system design reviews, software technical reviews, and milestone events (SRR, PDR, CDR, TRR, ORR).
• Maintain requirements traceability between objectives, system requirements, software specs, and verification activities.
• Support software integration, test planning, execution, anomaly resolution, and operational readiness.

Position Overview

KeyResponsibilities

• Analyzes stakeholder, mission,andsystem requirements andtranslate themintosoftware and interface requirements.
• Develops and maintains software architecture products, Interface Control Documents (ICDs), and system engineering artifacts.

• Supports software integration, test planning, execution, anomaly resolution, and operational readiness activities.
• Performs systemmodeling, performance analysis, andtrade studies to evaluate technical solutions and support engineering decisions.
• Coordinatessoftwareconfigurationmanagement,changecontrol, andreleaseactivities.
• Assistsinriskidentification,mitigationplanning,andtechnicalissueresolution.
• Support mission operations, anomaly investigations,software upgrades, andpost-launch sustainment activities as required.
• Ensure compliance withapplicable aerospace, cybersecurity,quality assurance, and mission assurance standards.

RequiredQualifications

• Strongwrittenandverbalcommunicationskillswiththeabilitytopresenttechnicalinformation todiverse audiences.

PreferredQualifications

• Experiencesupportingspacecraft,satellite,launchvehicle,orgroundcontrolsystems.

• ExperiencewithModel-basedSystems Engineering(MBSE)andSysML.
