Job summary

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a motivated Software Simulations Developer to join the Marine Corps Warfighting Lab (MCWL) team in Quantico, VA. This on-site role focuses on designing, developing, and sustaining high-fidelity simulations of weapon systems, scenarios, and wargaming tests.

You will integrate simulations into larger architectures, collaborate with engineers and subject matter experts, and lead planning, documentation, and capability tracking for evolving simulation platforms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Game Development, or a related technical field.
• Minimum of 5+ years of development experience.
• Experience with Modeling & Simulations or Wargaming Scenario Development (Unit, Mission, or Campaign Level).
• Proficiency in programming languages such as C++, C#, Python, or Java.
• Experience with simulation platforms or gaming engines such as AFSIM, NGTS, MACE, STORM, ITASE, Unity, Unreal Engine, Simio, or Arena.
• Familiarity with version control systems and collaborative software development workflows.

Responsibilities

Job description

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a motivated, career and customer-oriented Software Simulations Developer to join our team supporting the Marine Corps Warfighting Lab (MCWL) in Quantico, VA.

Core Work

Core work encompasses developing simulations comprised of weapon systems capabilities, event scenarios, adversarial models, environmental variables, and wargaming tests in AFSIM. These simulations will help the customer define studies that may lead to the acquisition of solutions to mission critical needs. The program is very fun to work on, and you supporting mission and campaign level wargaming scenario development efforts. Similar to videogame development but representing real warfighting assets and prototypes!

Quantico, VA (This is an on-site position)

• Collaborate with engineers, analysts, and operational subject matter experts to enhance model fidelity and ensure simulation accuracy
• Implement new features, conduct model testing and validation, and troubleshoot issues across evolving simulation platforms
• Lead and support planning, coordination, and documentation activities for simulation projects, including data collection, stakeholder alignment, and capability tracking

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of modeling and simulation principles in military or operational contexts
• Knowledge of 3D graphics, physics engines, and database management systems (e.g., SQL)

Clearance Requirements

• Must possess a current/active DoD Top Secret Clearance with SCI Eligibility.

Compensation

• Level II (BS with 5 years of experience) $140,000 - $160,000 (Based on years of relevant experience)
• Level III (BS with 10 years of experience) $160,000 - $200,000 (Based on years of relevant experience)
