Job summary

Black Diamond Networks is seeking a Software Simulation & Integration Engineer for an 18-24 month contract. The role requires aBachelor’s degree in engineering and 10+ years in real-time simulation, with expert knowledge of avionics and aircraft operations.

Candidate should be proficient in C++/C#/Python, have strong networking (TCP/IP, VLANs, switches, firewalls), and experience with DIS/HLA in Windows/Linux environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field.
• 10+ years of real-time simulation experience across development, integration, testing, and debugging.
• Strong avionics systems and aircraft operations knowledge.
• Proficiency in programming languages (C++, C#, Python).
• Solid networking knowledge (TCP/IP, VLANs, switches, firewalls).
• Experience with DIS and HLA simulation networking environments.
• Experience in Windows and Linux environments and virtualization.
• Ability to read schematics, system diagrams, interface docs.
• Proven troubleshooting across hardware and software domains.
• Strong communication for cross‑functional coordination.
• Willingness to travel for installation and support.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Aerospace, Computer, Systems, or related technical field).
• 10+ years of real-time simulation systems experience in development, integration, troubleshooting, testing, and debugging of complex technical simulation environments.
• Strong knowledge in avionics systems and aircraft operations.
• Strong knowledge in programming (C++, C#, Python, or similar).
• Strong knowledge of networking (TCP/IP, VLANs, managed switches, firewalls).
• Strong knowledge in simulation networking environments (DIS and HLA).
• Experience with Windows/Linux environments and virtualization platforms.
• Ability to read and interpret schematics, system architecture diagrams, and interface documentation.
• Demonstrated troubleshooting expertise across hardware and software domains.
• Strong communication skills for cross-functional coordination.
• Ability to travel as required for installation and customer support.

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with game engines (Unity, Unreal Engine) in simulation applications.
• CompTIA Security+, Network+, or equivalent certifications.
• Experience in high-reliability or mission-critical environments.
