The role focuses on defining and maintaining program-level software quality processes, participating across the lifecycle, and conducting audits to ensure compliance with standards. A BS in a relevant field and 3+ years in software quality are required.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Engineering or closely related field.
• 3+ years' experience in a Software Quality role.
• 3+ years' experience developing, modifying and documenting actions for problem resolution and corrective/preventive actions.
• Experience in projects using multiple software development methodologies.

Overview

Chipton-Ross is seeking a Software Quality Engineer 4 for a contract opportunity in Colorado Springs, CO. 100% onsite.

Responsibilities

• Defines and maintains program-level software quality engineering processes, resources, and infrastructure.
• Actively participates in program activities, from initial proposal and planning to verification/certification and delivery.
• Performs process and product audits to verify software lifecycle activities and products comply with approved software processes, plans, and standards.
• Supports program milestone and formal review meetings, occasionally preparing and presenting information.
• Participates in configuration management activities.
• Plans software quality test activities and completion of test readiness activities.
• Ensures integrity of the test process and verifies test results.
• Works with regulatory agencies and other functions to develop criteria and procedures for software delivery activities.
• Performs final reconciliation of software data products.
• Identifies process or product non-compliances; supports root cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions and other defect investigation/prevention activities.
• Teams with equipment managers of supplier products to monitor and evaluate supplier software development performance.
• Acts as an independent set of eyes and ears for Program Managers and the customer, highlighting potential best practices on the team, as well as areas for improvement.
• Supports the identification and analysis of program/project software quality metrics to improve software quality and manage risk.

Qualifications

• Regular and predictable attendance is required.
• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, or Chemistry.
• 3+ years' experience in a Software Quality role.
• 3+ years' experience working independently to develop, modify and document actions to assure problem resolution and/or to implement corrective action and/or preventive action.
• Experience working in a project where various software development methodologies are being utilized.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in Quality Management Systems (QMS) auditing.
• Software Quality Engineering experience supporting software with AS9115, DO-178, and/or MIL-STD-882E requirements.
• Experience with the full software development lifecycle (SDLC).
• Experience with configuration management and collaboration tools such as Git, Jira, Collaborator, Bitbucket and Beyond Compare.
• Software development experience in a collaborative team environment using agile principles and a structured development process including code reviews and automated DevOps processes/tools.

Education

• Minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited program in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, or Chemistry.

• Work Hours: Full-Time / First Shift, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM
• Location: Colorado Springs, CO (100% onsite)
• Travel: Domestic travel up to 10% (not planned at this time)
