Job summary

MH Corbitt Consulting, Inc. in Herndon, VA seeks a Software Quality Assurance Specialist/App Tester to join a small test team supporting multiple applications across deployment stages. The role requires hands-on automated testing using Java and Selenium as well as manual testing when needed.

You will design test plans, write automated scripts, validate data with SQL, and work in Linux environments. The position emphasizes developing robust test strategies, performance testing, and documenting

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with a small test team on multiple applications at various deployment stages.

Software Quality Assurance Specialist/App Tester

Location: Herndon, VA

Clearance required at the time of application: TS/SCI + Full Scope Polygraph

Description

This position will work as part of a small test team to support multiple software applications in varying stages of deployment (from emerging technologies to legacy systems). This position requires knowledge of modern automated testing methodologies and technologies. Includes manual testing when the coding of an automated solution is impractical or not desirable. As the technology stack expands and grows, testers may be required to work with the application developers to support performance/load testing to fully evaluate the application capabilities.

Requirements

• Experience with SQL queries for data validation (Oracle, Postgres, MySQL)
• Expert in Selenium WebDriver
• Highly experienced in writing automated code (Java) as opposed to simply click and record.
• Must be able to evaluate developer assignments, independently understand requirements, and engineer tests to evaluate best path scenario as well as probe for possible failure conditions.
• Must know to use an IDE to code (ex - IntelliJ, Eclipse, NetBeans)
• Experience with interacting in a Linux environment (ex - Bash scripting, vi)
• Expertise in writing test plans, cases, procedures, scripts, and scenarios
• Demonstrated history with manual and automated test processes
• Ability to work well in a constantly evolving work environment
• Ensure the QA and testing approach references all known vulnerabilities and best practices
• Conduct and report testing using a repeatable process based on industry best practices
• Maintain and update the test environment
• Must have development skills, as automated testing is a lot of writing code.
• Solid hands-on experience testing experience with testing tools such as JMeter and /or Selenium
