Job summary

Rooms To Go is seeking a Software Quality Assurance Engineer to join our Application Development team in Florida. The role ensures quality, reliability, and performance of web and desktop applications through manual and automated testing.

You will develop test strategies, execute tests, identify defects, and help improve the software development lifecycle. The ideal candidate has 4+ years of QA experience, hands-on Playwright/Cypress automation, and strong collaboration skills to work with

Qualifications

  • 4+ years in Software Quality Assurance including manual testing and/or test automation.
  • Hands-on experience with Playwright or another Node.js-based automation tool (Cypress/WebDriverIO).
  • Understanding of testing methodologies, lifecycle, and SDLC.
  • Experience creating test plans, cases, and strategies from requirements or user stories.
  • Experience performing manual functional, smoke, regression, and integration testing.
  • Familiarity with defect tracking and test management tools.
  • Proficiency in JavaScript and Node.js-based automation tools preferred.
  • Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating within a development team.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and execute test plans, cases, and scripts for web and desktop apps.
  • Perform manual functional, regression, smoke, integration, and exploratory testing.
  • Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts using Playwright, Cypress, WebDriverIO, or similar tools.
  • Validate software against requirements, user stories, and specs.
  • Identify, document, prioritize, and track defects through resolution in defect-tracking tools.
  • Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and project teams to ensure quality throughout SDLC.
  • Participate in sprint planning, backlog refinement, and release readiness activities.
  • Execute regression testing before releases to ensure stability.
  • Improve testing processes and automation coverage for quality.
  • Assist in designing scalable automation frameworks and reusable assets.
  • Communicate testing progress and quality metrics to stakeholders.
  • Stay current with emerging testing tools and industry best practices.

Job description

Position Summary

Rooms To Go is seeking a Software Quality Assurance Engineer to join our Application Development team. This role is responsible for ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of our web and desktop applications through a combination of manual and automated testing. Working closely with developers, business analysts, and product stakeholders, you'll develop test strategies, execute manual and automated test cases, identify defects, and help improve the overall software development lifecycle. The ideal candidate has experience with both manual testing and test automation and enjoys building quality into every stage of the development process.

Responsibilities
  • Develop, maintain, and execute comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scripts for web and desktop applications.
  • Perform manual functional, regression, smoke, integration, and exploratory testing.
  • Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts using modern automation tools such as Playwright, Cypress, WebDriverIO, or similar frameworks.
  • Validate software against business requirements, user stories, and technical specifications.
  • Identify, document, prioritize, and track software defects through resolution using defect management tools.
  • Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and project teams to ensure software quality throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).

Qualifications

  • Experience creating test plans, test cases, and test strategies from business requirements or user stories.
  • Experience performing manual functional, smoke, regression, and integration testing.
  • Experience using defect tracking and test management tools.
  • Experience with JavaScript and Node.js-based automation tools preferred.
  • Familiarity with Agile software development methodologies.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a development team.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Playwright.
  • Experience testing web, desktop, and API applications.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing practices.
  • Programming or scripting experience.
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
