Job description

We are seeking a Software QA Engineer II to design, develop, and maintain test cases for the organization’s products and systems. This role will coordinate manual and automated testing needs, ensuring system integration of software and hardware, program consistency, and high-quality releases. The engineer will play a key role in test strategy, execution, and collaboration across QA, DevOps, and development teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure proper execution of test procedures and automated test suites.
• Translate business requirements into test strategies, ensuring requirement traceability.
• Collaborate with Product Owners and development teams to create QA Test Plans.
• Partner with QA, DevOps, and Developers for implementation and deployment.
• Follow Agile processes and QA best practices for high-quality releases.
• Execute Acceptance, Regression, System, Functional, Integration, and limited Performance testing.
• Provide accurate problem identification, root cause analysis, ticket documentation, and resolution.
• Identify dependencies, risks, and concerns with testing activities or release schedules.
• Plan and execute end-to-end system testing cycles in physical labs.
• Work with CI/CD pipelines for automated build, test, deploy, and support.
• Support trials of new infrastructure designs/services.
• Lead QA project tasks, mentoring junior and mid-level QA engineers.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field (preferred).
• 5+ years of experience with manual and automated testing.
• Strong experience using Java and JUnit testing.
• Experience testing RESTful APIs using Postman or similar tools.
• Hands-on experience with Continuous Integration (Jenkins) and Continuous Delivery.
• Experience with databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Cassandra).
• Experience working with Windows and Linux environments.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; self-starter min dset.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Kafka and MQTT.
• Experience with Devcontainers (Docker & Kubernetes).
• Experience testing in cloud environments (Amazon AWS or GCP).
• Cross-BU collaboration and release planning experience.
• Analytical thinking and problem-solving.
• Strong collaboration across QA, DevOps, and development teams.
• Ability to mentor and lead QA tasks.
• Adaptability in Agile, fast-paced environments.
