Job summary

Akkodis is seeking a Software Quality Assurance Engineer for a client in Rochester, NY. A Bachelor’s degree in software development, Information Systems, or Computer Science is required.

You will design, develop, and execute manual and automated test suites, collaborating with developers and product owners to champion quality on the agile team. Rate Range: $40/hr to $50/hr, negotiable based on experience and location.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in software development, Information Systems, or Computer Science.
• Minimum five years related experience.
• Skilled in functional, system, performance, and acceptance testing.
• Experience on an Agile team with multiple roles.
• Knowledge of JSON, XML, and SQL.
• Manual and/or automated testing of APIs using Postman or Bruno.
• Windows and Linux operating systems knowledge.
• Ability to review software analytics and log data for defects.
• Experience with testing printers and photo lab hardware.

Responsibilities

• Analyze user stories and requirements to assess impact on system and end user.
• Perform exploratory tests on complex user workflows.
• Participate in agile ceremonies and communicate testing progress and risks.
• Provide estimates for testing tasks tied to user stories.
• Develop test strategies and plans across Web UI, Mobile UI, API, and database.
• Create detailed test cases to verify use cases.
• Execute manual and automated tests and report results.
• Log bugs with steps to reproduce and impact analysis.
• Execute functional, integration, and regression testing.
• Maintain lab equipment inventory and ensure proper upkeep and calibration.
• Coordinate supply orders and lab consumables to prevent shortages.
