Job summary

RTX is seeking a Software Platform Engineer 2 to join its Software Infrastructure Engineering team in Aurora, CO. You will help develop and deploy modernized infrastructure solutions for critical defense projects, leveraging DevOps practices and container technologies.

You will collaborate with systems and software engineers, participate in agile development, and contribute to CI/CD efforts while applying basic engineering principles to solve complex problems for mission critical workloads.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a Master’s degree in STEM and a minimum of 2 years of relevant professional work experience.
• Experience in software development utilizing scripting languages such as Python, Perl, Ruby, Java, Bash, or Shell.
• Experience with infrastructure automation and DevOps practices.
• Experience with Linux, Windows, or other system operating systems at the command line.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance with U.S. citizenship.

Qualifications You Must Have

• Experience in software development utilizing scripting languages such as Python, Perl, Ruby, Java, Bash, or Shell.

• Experience with infrastructure automation and DevOps practices.

• Experience with Linux, Windows, or other system operating systems at the command‑line interface.

• The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government‑issued DoD: TS/SCI security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Qualifications We Prefer

• Experience with development tools such as Ansible, Chef, Docker, Rancher, Kubernetes, GIT, Jenkins, Jira, or Confluence.

• Experience with network design and architecture schemes.

• Familiarity with cloud technologies such as AWS, Google Cloud, or GovCloud.

• Experience with DevSecOps toolsets, either as a user or implementer.

• Understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle, including Agile methodologies.

• Knowledge of cybersecurity concepts.

• Strong team collaboration and interpersonal skills, with excellent written and verbal communication abilities.

The salary range for this role is 68,900 USD - 131,100 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
