Job summary

MetLife is seeking a Software Engineer to join its Global Technology team. You’ll be a full-stack developer on a fast-paced, product-focused group building customer-first web, mobile and cloud solutions.

You’ll influence design, deliver enterprise features, and apply AI tools to improve reliability and performance for customers worldwide. This hybrid in-office role requires collaboration with cross-functional partners and secure coding practices.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field.
  • 4-5 years of experience with full-stack software engineering.
  • Ability to build, deliver and operate complex, cloud-based systems.
  • Proficiency with SQL and NoSQL databases.
  • Proficiency with modern web frameworks (Node.js, AngularJS, React.JS or VueJS).
  • Experience using AI tools for problem solving and software development.
  • Cross functional leadership: organize, motivate, and lead those outside of the team.
  • Experience with cloud platforms.

The Opportunity

As a Software Engineer, you will be a full-stack developer on a fast-paced, Product-focused team building and deploying systems that are customer-first, leveraging modern, web, mobile and cloud technologies, cutting edge design and integrations across the entire software stack. Key Responsibilities

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field.
  • 4 - 5 years of experience with full-stack software engineering.
  • Ability to build, deliver and operate complex, cloud-based systems.
  • Proficiency with various database technologies and solutions, including both SQL and NoSQL.
  • Proficiency with modern web framework such as Node.js, AngularJS, React.JS or VueJS.
  • Experience and knowledge using AI tools for problem solving and software development.
  • Cross functional leadership: organize, motivate, and lead those outside of the team.
  • Experience with cloud platforms.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in computer science or related field
  • DevOps practices for CI/CD, release management, and automation using Azure DevOps
  • Git-based repositories such as GitHub, Bitbucket or Azure Repos
  • Container-based development leveraging Docker and/or Kubernetes
  • Modern Identity and Access Management and general AppSec practices
  • MongoDB experience.
  • Experience with development of HYBRID mobile app and responsive web applications
Location Expectation

This is a hybrid role requiring a minimum of 3 days per week in office.

Salary and Incentives

The expected salary range for this position is $90,000 - $105,000. This role may also be eligible for annual short-term incentive compensation. All incentives and benefits are subject to the applicable plan terms.
