Job summary

Insight Global is seeking a Platform Engineer with a strong development background to design, build, and operate scalable platforms. You will work across AWS, CI/CD pipelines, containerized environments, and application development, building reusable libraries and automation frameworks.

Qualifications

• Solid development background with experience in Java, Node.js, and Python.
• Scripting skills (Bash, Python, or similar) and Linux administration.
• Hands-on experience managing AWS cloud environments and CI/CD tooling, especially Jenkins.
• Familiarity with containerization and Kubernetes; experience migrating to container platforms.
• Experience contributing to or maintaining open‑source projects and automation frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Perform platform administration and DevOps activities: patching, monitoring, and performance optimization.
• Design, maintain, and enhance CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins and automation for platform workflows.
• Manage AWS resources and lead migrations from EC2-based deployments to Kubernetes environments.
• Develop common libraries and shared services for engineering teams; support Spring and Node.js apps and React front-ends.

Insight Global is looking for a Platform Engineer with a strong development background and hands‑on experience to help design, build, and operate scalable, reliable platforms. This role blends cloud infrastructure management, automation, and software development, with a focus on modernizing systems and enabling engineering teams through shared platforms and tooling. The ideal candidate is comfortable working across AWS, CI/CD pipelines, containerized environments, and application development, and enjoys building reusable libraries and automation frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

Platform & DevOps Engineering

Perform platform administration and DevOps‑related activities, including:

• OS and middleware patching and maintenance
• Monitoring, troubleshooting, and performance optimization
• Design, maintain, and enhance CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, going beyond basic pipeline implementations
• Implement automation for operational tasks and platform workflows

Cloud & Infrastructure

Manage and maintain AWS cloud resources, including:

• Provisioning, upgrading, and optimizing cloud infrastructure
• Supporting cost, performance, and scalability best practices
• Lead and support the migration of applications from EC2‑based deployments to containerized Kubernetes environments
• Collaborate on cloud architecture decisions and platform standards

Application Modernization & Development

Contribute to the development of common libraries and shared services used across engineering teams

Support and enhance:

• Batch processing applications using the Spring Framework
• Node.js services, including AWS Lambda–based builds
• ReactJS‑based front‑end components, including open‑source packages

Automation & Scripting

Build and maintain automation tools using Python, leveraging frameworks such as FastAPI

Develop scripts and utilities to improve deployment speed, reliability, and developer productivity

Pay Rate: $65-75.00/hr
