Job summary

Lockheed Martin is seeking a software engineer to plan, design, develop, test, and document software solutions that address complex mission needs. You will apply standards and life-cycle processes across Windows/Linux environments, write clean code, and contribute to system integration.

Join the Skunk Works Mission Systems and Software Communications Team, collaborating across Lockheed Martin to combine COTS with advanced technologies. Travel up to 10% and pursue a DoD Secret clearance as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field.
  • Experience with Windows and Linux operating systems.
  • Familiar with programming languages, platforms and environments.
  • Understanding of standard system design principles, testing, data transfers, etc.
  • Knowledge of databases and data formats (JASON, XSD, XML).
  • Understanding of smart security practices across all phases of integration & test.
  • Familiar with GitLab version control.
  • Good documentation and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fluid, dynamic environment.
  • Willingness to obtain a DoD Secret clearance.
  • Travel up to 10%.

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
  • Familiar with Windows and Linux operating systems
  • Familiar with programming languages, software platforms, and environments
  • Familiar with standard system design principles, testing diagnosis, test procedures, data transfers, etc.
  • Understanding of databases, data formats (JASON, XSD, XML, etc.) and transformation techniques
  • Understanding of smart security practices as they relate to all phases of integration & test
  • Familiar with version control using GitLab
  • Good documentation and communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fluid, dynamic environment
  • Ability to continuously learn while influencing integration & test best practices
  • Able to obtain a DoD Secret clearance
  • Ability to travel up to 10%
Desired Skills
  • Familiar with programming languages of Python, Java, C++, etc.
  • Ability to manage integration projects which includes timelines, resources, and stakeholder communication
  • Understanding of APIs and their connectivity to software systems
  • Experience with comms systems/hardware especially legacy systems
  • Familiar with VITA 48 specification for embedded systems (ie. 3UVPX)
  • Familiar with networking of comms systems
  • Familiar with Docker containers, Kubernetes, Virtual Machines (VMs), etc.
Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $98100.00 - $182100.00 At Lockheed Martin, we know mission success starts with taking care of our people.
