This position focuses on delivering secure, reliable, and efficient software deployments while orchestrating complex configuration changes and software updates across production systems. The Software Integration Engineer will ensure that software delivery processes adhere to established security, compliance, performance, and operational requirements.

The engineer will also serve as a Tier 3 technical escalation lead, collaborating with Operations and Maintenance (O&M) teams to diagnose and resolve complex infrastructure issues, conduct root cause analysis, and develop automated remediation strategies that improve system stability and long-term operational efficiency.

The ideal candidate will possess strong Linux administration skills, expertise in Ansible automation and Python development, and experience with Kubernetes, Helm, containerization, and DevOps/GitOps practices.

Required Skills/Experience:

  • Active TS/SCI clearance with Full Scope Polygraph.

  • Experience using the Linux command-line interface (CLI) and associated Linux administration and troubleshooting tools.

  • Experience implementing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles and developing infrastructure automation solutions using Ansible.

  • Experience developing Python software, including custom Ansible modules to support specialized automation and configuration management requirements.

  • Experience with containerization technologies, including Docker, containerd, and Podman.

  • Experience creating, deploying, and maintaining Helm charts for containerized applications and services operating in Kubernetes environments.

  • Experience applying DevOps and GitOps principles, methodologies, and best practices to software integration, configuration management, and deployment.

  • Experience creating release candidates, maintaining software delivery pipelines, and troubleshooting deployment and integration failures.

  • Working knowledge of Git, including source code management, branching strategies, tagging, and release management.

  • Experience developing comprehensive technical documentation, including installation guides, troubleshooting runbooks, system configuration procedures, and architectural diagrams.

Desired Skills:

  • Experience using Atlassian collaboration and development tools, including Jira and Confluence.

  • Familiarity with Agile, Scrum, or Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) development methodologies.

  • Familiarity with Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM) tools, including NetBox.

The Software Integration Engineer provides technical expertise in integrating, installing, configuring, upgrading, compiling, and supporting Commercial Off-the-Shelf (COTS) and Government Off-the-Shelf (GOTS) software across heterogeneous operating system environments.

The Level 3 Software Integration Engineer also supports software product ownership for HPC tools, software performance characterization, configuration management, technical documentation, and operational sustainment while ensuring compatibility with mission requirements.

Responsibilities and Capabilities:

  • Orchestrate complex software configuration changes, upgrades, and production releases while maintaining platform reliability, security, and performance.

  • Integrate, install, configure, upgrade, compile, and sustain COTS/GOTS software across heterogeneous operating system environments.

  • Develop and maintain Ansible playbooks, roles, and automation workflows to support infrastructure provisioning, software deployment, and configuration management.

  • Develop custom Ansible modules using Python to address specialized system integration and operational requirements.

  • Deploy, configure, and support containerized applications and services using Docker, containerd, and Podman.

  • Create, maintain, and troubleshoot Helm charts supporting application deployments in Kubernetes environments.

  • Implement DevOps and GitOps methodologies to improve software delivery consistency, traceability, and operational efficiency.

  • Create and manage software release candidates, support deployment pipelines, and resolve integration and release-related issues.

  • Utilize Git for source control, branching strategies, tagging, version management, and collaborative development.

  • Serve as the Tier 3 technical escalation lead for complex software integration, deployment, and infrastructure-related incidents.

  • Collaborate with O&M teams to investigate system failures, diagnose infrastructure issues, and implement effective remediation strategies.

  • Conduct detailed root cause analysis to identify recurring technical problems and develop automated solutions that prevent future incidents.

  • Execute software testing and performance characterization procedures to validate functionality, compatibility, and operational requirements.

  • Provide software product ownership and sustainment support for HPC tools and associated applications.

  • Maintain comprehensive technical documentation covering the full software stack, installation procedures, deployment processes, troubleshooting runbooks, and architectural configurations.

  • Utilize configuration management tools, web-based documentation, and issue-tracking systems to support integration activities and operational maintenance.

  • Collaborate with software developers, systems administrators, infrastructure engineers, cybersecurity personnel, and mission stakeholders to support deployment and integration requirements.

  • Evaluate existing automation and deployment processes and recommend improvements to enhance system stability, security, scalability, and maintainability.
