Job summary

Insight Global in Palo Alto, CA is seeking a hands-on QA/validation engineer focused on IVI and embedded software across ECUs, connectivity, multimedia, and customer-facing applications. You will build and maintain test benches, perform end-to-end feature validation, run white-box and black-box tests, and collaborate with engineering to troubleshoot new features in a fast-paced environment.

• Strong white-box testing experience, including APIs, middleware, control logic, and state machines.

• Ability to triage issues and write detailed, actionable bug reports.

Skills and Requirements

• Experience creating test plans, smoke tests, and regression testing strategies.
• Strong white-box testing experience, including APIs, middleware, control logic, and state machines.
• Background validating complex hardware/software products (automotive, consumer electronics, mobile, robotics, etc.).
• Ability to triage issues and write detailed, actionable bug reports.
• Hands-on hardware/software integration and test bench experience.
• Linux proficiency (CLI, logs, networking, scripting, debugging).
• Experience with Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) testing.
• Must be onsite in Palo Alto, CA. Experience with real-time embedded systems, vehicle networks, and automotive software.
• IVI (In-Vehicle Infotainment) validation experience.
• Python scripting and test automation experience.
• Familiarity with vehicle diagnostics, CAN/LIN, and logging tools.
• Experience supporting software releases in a fast-paced development environment.
