fab2 in Austin, TX is seeking a Software Integration Engineer to unify firmware, control software, electronics and actuators into production-ready semiconductor equipment.
You will wear many hats—project management, system design, software development, testing on physical systems, and data analysis—to move from prototype to qualified tools used in manufacturing. This role suits someone with a software, electronics, or robotics background who loves hands-on hardware.
The fab2 team can build anything. We design all the hardware and software needed to make chips and we make the fabs, tools, and components ourselves.
We’re looking for exceptional, hands‑on people who can iterate to the limits of what’s possible.
The tool software group builds Linux control software and microcontroller firmware for fab2’s in‑house semiconductor manufacturing equipment. This includes software for sequencing, recipe execution, interlocks, operator user interfaces, diagnostics, and real‑time microcontroller firmware.
As the Software Integration Engineer, you ensure the whole tool works end to end. You are the person who knows how firmware, control software, electronics, and actuators fit together. You do whatever it takes to make sure our systems can move from prototype to a qualified tool running in production. This could involve wearing a variety of hats, such as project management, system design, software development, testing on physical systems, and data analysis.
This is an ideal role for a person with a software, electronics, or robotics background who wants to work on physical systems.
We’re an early‑stage hardware startup with solid funding, world‑class advisors, and a lab/office in Austin, TX, Lockhart, TX, and San Francisco, CA.
