Job summary

RTX is seeking an IPTL to lead program execution in Ft Wayne, IN, ensuring technical subsystems meet contract requirements. You will coordinate with engineering, manage risks, and mentor the team, with approx. 10% travel and strong customer collaboration.

The role requires a STEM degree, 10+ years in defense, Agile leadership, and active Secret clearance. This is an onsite position supporting Raytheon/RTX programs.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics is required.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams in the defense sector.
  • Ability to manage agile software teams and use Jira for lifecycle tracking.
  • Familiarity with EVMS, IMP/IMS, and risk management practices.
  • Active Secret US government clearance or ability to obtain one.

Responsibilities

  • Lead program execution in accordance with contract requirements.
  • Coordinate with engineering leadership to meet milestones and priorities.
  • Provide technical leadership to design, develop, integrate, test and verify system performance.
  • Communicate status, risks and needs to Raytheon leadership and customers.

The IPTL, in coordination with existing engineering leadership, will lead program execution in accordance with contractual requirements as well as ensuring the technical subsystem requirements are achieved. The IPTL will maintain and strengthen our customer and industry partner/supplier relationships through effective coordination in a complex environment. The IPTL will work daily with the engineering team to drive execution efficiency, maintain milestone focus, and manage priority of competing demands on the team. This IPTL role requires proactive and effective collaboration and communication across the program and with the appropriate Customer stakeholders. This is an onsite role located in Ft. Wayne, IN.

What You Will Do
  • Meet contractual commitments including financial, technical, and schedule performance of assigned program(s) within contractual boundaries and company expectations
  • Report business metrics to both the program and functional leadership including Estimates At Complete (EAC)
  • Provide the technical execution leadership required to design, develop, integrate & test, verify, qualify and deliver a system that complies with performance requirements
  • Communicate both to the Raytheon leadership and the customer community to provide program status, accomplishments, issues, and help needed
  • As a member of the Program Leadership Team, contribute to developing and aligning on common program vision and execution strategies
  • Actively work to identify, manage, and mitigate risks or capture opportunities
  • Provide mentoring and guidance to team members
  • Travel as necessary to support the Program (approx. 10%)
Qualifications You Must Have
  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 10 years of prior relevant experience
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams within the Defense Industry that includes two or more other disciplines in Engineering, Contracts, Finance, Procurement/Supply Chain, Manufacturing/Operations, Quality Management, and/or administrative functions
  • Experience with leading Software Engineering Teams in Agile Development and using Agile Lifecycle Management tools, preferably Jira
  • Experience with Earned Value Management System (EVMS), Integrated Master Plan (IMP) / Integrated Master Schedule (IMS), or Risk and Opportunity Management
  • Active and transferable Secret U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date with the ability to obtain special program access after start
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
Qualifications We Prefer
  • Experience with leading Firmware Engineering Teams as part of Software, preferably in an Agile environment
  • Experience with leading development and maintenance across multiple program sites
  • Experience with DevSecOps processes and toolchains
  • Experience completing a Software Formal Qualification Test (SFQT) within the Defense Industry
  • Experience with Supplier Management
  • Excellent presentation and proposal skills
  • Experience in the Electronic Warfare domain

The salary range for this role is 132,400 USD - 251,600 USD
