Accenture Federal Services seeks a Software Installation Engineer to perform onsite software installations, system configurations, data migrations, and testing across project environments.   • Proficient in installing, configuring and operating RHEL.
  • Strong Linux CLI and scripting (Python/Go/Bash).
  • Experience with HPE/HP hardware platforms and networking gear.
  • Networking proficiency: routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, wireless controllers.
  • Familiar with MS Office suite and enterprise tools (LCAM, ASAP, Oracle).
  • Knowledge of RMF/STIGs and NIST controls is a plus.

Job Description

The Software Installation Engineer conducts onsite software installations at customer facilities and in support of the local lab environment. This individual will be required to do system and network configurations, data migrations, and system verifications/testing on all iterations of the project software. In addition, this person will support project managers with site surveys, defining and implementing quality control strategies, and draft project documentation related to the software installations. Weekly updates on the status of projects and weekly inputs to the status reports for customers are required. Additionally, this person will also work with local team members in our lab to troubleshoot and resolve system problems related to networking, applications, and system access.

Here's what you need
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, related field; or 3 years of equivalent experience or equivalent military experience (requires case by case review).
  • 8+ years of experience with software installation.
  • Experience in the following areas:
    • CompTIA A+, CompTIA Server+, Security +, CCT Routing & Switching, Cisco Certified Technician Routing & Switching.
    • Proficient in the installation, configuration, and operations of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL).
    • Adept with Linux command line and scripting in Python/Go/Bash.
    • Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE), Hewlett Packard Inc (HP) hardware platforms.
    • Proficient in computer networking to include media converters, printers, firewalls, proxies, and/or various networking protocols.
    • Proficient in MS Office Word, Excel, Access PowerPoint, Outlook, LCAM, ASAP, Oracle.
    • Configuring routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, and wireless controllers.
    • Managing QoS and routing protocols (OSPF/BGP).
    • Monitoring network health, conduct capacity/performance tuning, and troubleshoot outages.
    • Implementing network segmentation, NAC, and security controls; support zero trust architectures.
    • Creating network diagrams, asset inventories, and change control documentation.
    • Linux/Windows ops, CI/CD, infrastructure as code (e.g., Terraform), and monitoring stacks.
    • Familiarity with RMF, STIGs, NIST controls.
  • Candidates should be willing and able to travel to customer sites both CONUS and OCONUS.

The base pay range for this position in these locations is shown below. Compensation for roles at Accenture Federal Services varies depending on a wide array of factors, including but not limited to office location, role, skill set, and level of experience.
