Job summary

IBM in Minnesota (Rochester) is seeking a Software or Hardware Development Engineer to contribute to design, testing, and support of IBM's technologies, from processors to AI systems. You will work with global teams to install, validate, and optimize hardware, firmware, and AI LLM deployment.

Ideal candidates have a Bachelor's degree, experience with client-server architectures, APIs, and agile methods, plus strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Install and test hardware systems hands-on.
  • Validate and characterize processors and systems.
  • Support customers and field engineers with technical solutions.
  • Design and test firmware architectures.
  • Analyze failures and improve system reliability.
  • Automate test suites and simulate customer environments.
  • Develop and document test plans and procedures.
  • Contribute to internal and external code repositories.
  • Collaborate with global development teams.
  • Install, configure, and validate AI Large Language Models (LLMs).
