Job summary

Coding it Forward invites recent graduates (undergrad, masters, or PhDs) to join the Winter Fellowship, a full-time, paid 10-week program designed for early-career technologists to help modernize state government.

Fellows contribute across data, design, product, or software to create a more equitable and effective government, with mentorship, weekly events, and a strong alumni network after the fellowship ends.

Qualifications

• Recent graduates (undergrad, master's, or PhD) are eligible.
• Fellows work across data, design, product, or software to impact state government.
• Must be residing in the United States and not enrolled in an academic program during the fellowship.

Coding it Forward is hiringrecently graduated students (undergrad, masters, or PhDs)to participate in the Coding it Forward Fellowship , a full-timepaid, 10-week winter Fellowship for early-career technologists to innovate in state government.

Fellows work acrossdata, design, product, or software to build a more equitable and effective government for all.

Fellows have the opportunity to:

• Get paid while making an impact. You’ll contribute your expertise to some of the most pressing problems facing our country while getting your start in public interest technology.
• Develop as a mission-driven technologist. You’ll work alongside public servants to apply your technical and problem-solving skills to improve the critical products and services our communities depend on.
• Grow personally and professionally. You’ll attend weekly events led by top technologists, gain access to a one-on-one mentor, and office hours with the Coding it Forward team.
• Join a cohort-based community.You’ll build lasting connections with other passionate early-career technologists in your cohort through social activities, group check-ins, and special events.
• Expand your network.After the winter ends, you’ll join our dynamic network of more than 700 alumni and receive access to job opportunities, professional development resources, and more.

Program Logistics

• Dates:January 11 - March 19, 2027
• Time Commitment: Full-time, 40 Hours/Week. You mustnot be actively enrolled in an academic program at the time of the Fellowship.
• Location:Some roles will be fully remote and some will involve an in-person component. You must be living in the United States for the duration of the program.
