Job summary

Teradyne, a global test and automation leader, seeks an Engineering Manager for its Memory Test division to guide a software team delivering digital instrument software on Teradyne platforms.

You will lead design, implementation, testing, and delivery while partnering with stakeholders to meet business objectives. The role requires 1–3 years of functional management, C/C++, and strong ATE knowledge. On-site in San Jose, CA with discretionary bonus eligibility.

Qualifications

• BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.
• 1–3 years of functional management experience.
• Experience in software development within semiconductor test or ATE environments.
• Strong object-oriented design principles.
• Experience working with hardware engineers and FPGA developers.
• Proficiency in C/C++ and MS Visual Studio.
• Experience delivering customer-facing products into production.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Demonstrated leadership to motivate and guide teams.
• Master's degree preferred.
• Passion for learning about the ATE industry.

Opportunity Overview

We are seeking an Engineering Manager for our Memory Test division to lead a software development team focused on delivering high-quality solutions for digital instruments on Teradyne’s flagship platforms. This role is responsible for guiding the design, implementation, testing, and delivery of software while ensuring alignment with business objectives and customer needs. The Engineering Manager will partner closely with stakeholders to drive execution, remove blockers, and ensure timely delivery of critical projects.

• Lead milestone-based development schedules to ensure high-quality software delivery within time and budget.
• Develop functional specifications and design documentation aligned with system and product requirements.
• Collaborate with technical subject matter experts to define and refine software requirements for new features.
• Build strong cross-functional relationships to drive progress on time-critical projects.
• Support execution by monitoring progress, resolving issues, and reporting status to leadership.
• Partner with stakeholders to unblock challenges and align on delivery strategies.
• Mentor and develop engineers through coaching, feedback, and career growth opportunities.
• Ensure strong technical knowledge of ATE systems to effectively address customer-impacting issues.

Compensation:

The base salary range for this role is $182,300 - $291,700. This range is a good faith estimate, and the amount of base salary will correspond with experience and skill set. This range can also fluctuate depending on demand and location.

Incentive Plan: This job is eligible for discretionary bonus(es) based on financial performance.
