Job summary

The Home Depot is seeking a Software Engineer Manager to lead and grow a world-class software engineering team in Atlanta. You will collaborate with product UX, engineering and management to deliver secure, scalable software and drive adoption of modern tooling across the enterprise.

You will mentor engineers, guide strategy and execution across product teams, and work with vendors to implement critical platforms. Expect travel 5%–20% and a focus on performance, automation, and robust monitoring.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field is required.
• Mastery of an object oriented programming language, preferably Java.
• 5-7 years of relevant work experience and leadership on complex enterprise projects.
• Experience with GCP applications and backend Java.
• Proficiency in modern web frameworks (Ruby on Rails, Spring MVC, Node.js).
• Strong SQL skills and knowledge of relational databases.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with product teams to create secure, scalable software solutions.
• Mentors and coaches Software Engineers; leads talent development.
• Leads delivery, execution, and review of engineering work and tooling.
• Evaluates new technologies and drives adoption across the enterprise.
• Provides application support and acts as escalation point for engineers.
• Partners with vendors for tooling and platform implementations.
