Job summary

Lennar is seeking a Software Engineering Manager I to lead a small team of engineers and drive the delivery of high-quality software solutions across front-end and back-end stacks. You will guide day-to-day operations, mentor engineers, and ensure projects meet scope and timelines.

Responsibilities include overseeing full-stack development (React/TypeScript with Python/FastAPI), collaborating with product management, mentoring staff, and owning CI quality gates.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent field.
• 8+ years building/operating production software including web apps and backend services.
• 4+ years mentoring junior/mid software engineers.
• 4+ years in team management and project delivery.
• Strong background in distributed systems and service integration.
• Experience with Python, FastAPI, React, and TypeScript to review full-stack changes.
• Hands-on use of AI coding agents with judgment on when to verify or override output.
• Experience leading engineers across multiple time zones.

Responsibilities

• Lead a small team of software engineers and oversee day-to-day operations.
• Oversee development and delivery of high-quality software solutions.
• Collaborate with product management to align features with objectives.
• Facilitate code reviews and enforce best practices across the stack.
• Monitor timelines and remove blockers to progress.
• Participate in recruitment and onboarding of new team members.
• Mentor and develop engineering talent.
• Lead a full-stack squad building React/TypeScript front-ends on Python/FastAPI services.
• Contribute to delivery by writing production code and reviewing architecture.
