Job summary

Google is seeking a Software Engineering Manager in Kirkland, WA to scale and lead critical projects in the Identity Onboarding space for GCP. You will manage engineers across multiple teams, align efforts across product areas, and drive platform-level onboarding solutions with emphasis on security and usability.

You will guide architecture, mentor engineers, and collaborate with senior leadership to deliver secure, scalable onboarding across Google Cloud Platform.

• 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role.
• 2 years of experience in a people management or team leadership role.

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent practical experience.

Preferred qualifications:

• 10 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, C, C++, Java, JavaScript).
• 5 years of experience in a technical leadership role; overseeing strategic projects, with 3 years of experience in a people management role.
• Ability to technically mentor team members and grow technical expertise and leadership within the team.
• Ability to coach and support team members in their career growth.

The AION (Authentication, Identity, and Onboarding) team caters to Onboarding and Authentication experiences on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

In this role, you will scale and lead critical projects in the Identity Onboarding space.

US: $207000 - $300000 (USD) + 20% bonus target + equity + benefits

Responsibilities:

• Direct and build a team of individual contributors to re‑engineer GCP onboarding. Build the solution as a platform, so that elements of the solution can be rapidly re‑packaged to support different GCP products and their onboarding scenarios.
• Navigate multiple organizations, product areas and align engineering efforts across them. Be responsible for regularly presenting the project's progress to senior leadership.
• Architect solutions that balance a frictionless user experience with stringent security and compliance requirements.
• Build, manage, and mentor a multi‑disciplinary engineering team capable of touching multiple layers of the GCP/Google identity stack.
