U.S. Bank is seeking an experienced engineering leader to guide multiple software teams delivering commercial payments and enterprise platform solutions. You will oversee architecture, API and ERP integrations, and champion reliability engineering to ensure scalable, secure systems.

The role requires building high‑performing teams, coordinating with product and architecture stakeholders, and maintaining strong focus on risk, governance, and customer outcomes in regulated environments.

Qualifications

• Must have 5–6 years of relevant technical experience.
• 3–4 years of leading a software engineering team.
• Proven ability to lead multiple teams delivering enterprise platforms.

• Lead and develop multiple software engineering teams delivering payments, corporate card, business spend, and financial integration solutions.
• Drive execution of engineering roadmaps aligned with product strategy and customer outcomes.
• Guide system architecture, design, and engineering best practices across teams.
• Oversee delivery of API, ERP, and third‑party integrations with scalability and performance.
• Champion SRE principles, operational excellence and system availability.
• Own production operations including incident management and release governance.
• Ensure security, risk, compliance, and data protection in regulated environments.
• Partner with Product, Architecture, and stakeholders to manage priorities and risks.
• Build and mentor high‑performing teams; lead distributed teams including contractors.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and develop multiple Software Engineering teams delivering commercial payments , corporate card , business spend , and financial integration solutions.
• Drive execution of engineering roadmaps, ensuring alignment with product strategy , business priorities, and customer outcomes.
• Guide system architecture , technical design, and engineering best practices across multiple teams.
• Oversee delivery of API , ERP , and third-party system integrations , ensuring scalability, resiliency, and performance.
• Champion Software Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles, operational excellence, and system availability.
• Own production operations , including incident management, on-call readiness, release governance, and service recovery.
• Ensure adherence to security , risk , compliance , and data protection standards in regulated environments.
• Partner with Product, Architecture, and business stakeholders to manage priorities, dependencies, risks, and delivery commitments.
• Build and mentor high-performing engineering teams, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Lead distributed teams, including contractors and vendor partners, to deliver high-quality solutions at scale.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience
• Five to six years of relevant technical experience
• Three to four years of leading a software engineering team

Required Skills

• Engineering Leadership and people management experience leading multiple software engineering teams.
• Strong background in Software Development , System Design , and Distributed Systems Architecture .
• Experience delivering API Integrations , System-to-System Integrations , and enterprise platforms.
• Expertise in Production Support , Incident Response , Release Management , and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) .
• Knowledge of Payments , Commercial Cards , ACH , Money Movement , or Financial Technology platforms.
• Experience with ERP/Accounting Integrations (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, QuickBooks, Sage Intacct, Xero ).
• Strong understanding of Security , Compliance , Risk Management , and regulated industry requirements.
• Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams, manage complex programs, and deliver scalable customer-focused solutions.

Location expectations

This role requires working from a U.S. Bank location three (3) or more days per week.
