Job summary

Lynx is seeking a seasoned software engineering manager to lead a cross-functional team focused on developing mission-critical edge systems. In this role, you will own project execution, ensuring that safety and speed are balanced throughout the software delivery lifecycle.

Ideal candidates will have over 7 years of experience in software engineering and at least 3 years in a management capacity, along with deep expertise in SCRUM/Agile methodologies. Benefits include low-cost health coverage and 401K with employer match.

Salary Range:

$130,000 – 160,000 + Bonus Eligible

  • CoreSuite2.0: CoreSuite2.0 is Lynx’s safety‑critical GPU for graphics enablement framework designed for mission‑critical edge computing systems. It provides hardware‑accelerated graphics, visualization, and video processing capabilities that can be certified for high‑assurance systems.
  • Services: Lynx Services is Lynx’s professional services organization that helps customers design, integrate, certify, deploy, and maintain safety‑ and security‑critical systems. It supports industries like aerospace, defense, automotive, and industrial computing through consulting, engineering, integration, and lifecycle support, reducing development risk and accelerating certification in standards‑driven, mission‑critical environment.
Key Responsibilities
  • Team Leadership: Direct and mentor a cross‑functional team of software engineers and contractors. You are responsible for career growth, performance management, and resource allocation.
  • Project Execution: Own the delivery lifecycle for OS features. You’ll manage timelines, risks, and dependencies, ensuring that "moving fast" never comes at the expense of "moving safely.".
  • Contractor Management: Oversee external partners and contractors, ensuring their deliverables meet Lynx’s high standards for code quality and architectural integrity.
  • Safety & Compliance: Work closely with the Certification and QA teams to ensure all development processes align with industry standards such as DO‑178C.
Requirements
  • 7+ years in software engineering, with at least 3 years in a management role.
  • The ability to translate complex technical hurdles into clear project status updates for stakeholders.
  • Deep expertise in SCRUM/Agile. You know how to make Agile work in environments where "breaking things" isn't an option.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field preferred.
  • Must be a US Citizen.
Highly desired additional experience
  • Exposure to safety‑critical development processes (DO‑178C, ISO 26262).
  • Experience developing systems‑level software, including virtualization, OS kernels, or hypervisors for x86/ARM.
