Innovative technology, user-friendly platforms and streamlined delivery capabilities set us apart and make us an industry leader in the world of online food ordering. When you join our team, you become part of a community that works together to innovate, solve problems, grow, work hard and have a ton of fun in the process!

The Impact You Will Make

We’re looking for someone to join the Merchant team as an Engineering Manager who will be responsible for owning and building core order processing services as well key partner integrations across convenience, grocery, alcohol, and other new vertical spaces. This is an opportunity to shape how we bridge the gap between prepared foods and consumer packaged goods while connecting millions of users with the products that they need in real time. You will be responsible for a team that will define, architect, build, maintain, and scale new and innovative features for our users. Our Engineering Managers wear a lot of hats – you will work with other technology teams, product managers, product designers, and business stakeholders to build new business lines and scale them to millions of users across the country.

Duties will include
  • Lead and coach a team of senior and junior engineers tasked with delivering performant, flexible, and scalable features.
  • Craft a meaningful vision for the team, working in concert with product managers and other multi-location technology teams. Guide the team as you build out features that pave the way for new lines of business.
  • Work with product and business leaders to identify your roadmap and build deliverables and timelines.
  • Run your team's agile ceremonies. Positively influence the planning, refinement, and execution of your team’s goals in a rapid development environment.
  • Build a diverse team while fostering a collaborative and inclusive environment.
  • Build and utilize metrics to analyze features as they are deployed to Production to ensure they are functioning as expected and properly alerting when necessary.
  • Contribute to the adoption of strong software architecture, development best practices, and new technologies.
What You Bring to the Table
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Programming or Engineering related field or equivalent practical experience
  • 7+ years software engineering experience including 2+ years of management experience
  • Experience managing a team of Engineers and providing mentorship and coaching on career growth.
  • Strong proficiency with Java, Kotlin, and microservice architecture. Kafka, Python, and Apache Spark experience is helpful.
  • Strong understanding of AWS offerings like EC2, S3, and Lambda.
  • Experience building multi-datacenter hot-hot architectures.
  • Ability to debug production issues with observability and logging tools.
  • Pattern of building, owning, and maintaining scalable and reusable services, features, and components
  • Experience prioritizing and improving test coverage while designing for testability
  • Track record of advocating for the adoption of strong software architecture, development best practices, and new technologies
  • Experience being self-directed and responsible for deliverables
  • Familiar with Agile methodologies
  • You will work with your team to monitor and ensure the health of the platform, which includes a 24/7 hour on-call rotation, to ensure a great customer experience
