Job summary

RTX is seeking a Software Engineer intern in Salt Lake City, UT to contribute across the full software lifecycle, from architecture to deployment. You will work on applications for government communications, with guidance from a product lead and a collaborative team.

Must be pursuing a STEM degree and have experience in C++ on Linux, plus scripting in Python or Bash. Preferences include Rust, Qt, Angular, multithreading, and hardware integration experience.

Qualifications

• Must be pursuing a Bachelor's or advanced degree in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related STEM major and actively enrolled through the completion of the internship/co-op session.
• Experience developing in C++ in a Linux environment.
• Experience with one or more scripting languages, Python, Linux script, bash.

Responsibilities span the full lifecycle of product development, from architecture and design, through integration, test, and field support. You will contribute to the build, test, and delivery of a set of software applications to be deployed to advanced systems that process modern communications for the U.S. Government. The successful candidate will have a solid understanding of concepts related to standard programming practices, software architecture, and networking. Work on complex technical problems while participating on collaborative, cross-disciplined integrated product teams Work will be performed with guidance of a product lead and team members who will assist in establishing an approach, perform code review and support in testing

You Must Have

Must be pursuing a Bachelor's or advanced degree in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) major and actively enrolled through the completion of the internship/co-op session. Experience developing in C++ in a Linux environment. Experience with one or more scripting languages, Python, Linux script, bash. Experience may be obtained through on-the-job experience, research, coursework, or projects.
