Job summary

Superhuman is seeking Software Engineering Interns for a three-month summer program. You will work on front-end, back-end, full-stack, security, and mobile tasks within a structured, mentor-guided project. You’ll contribute to real features and collaborate with a high-performing engineering team.

Ideal candidates are enrolled in CS, can work in US hubs two days per week, and enjoy learning and shipping impactful software to millions of daily users.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a full-time CS degree program.
  • Available for a 12-week summer internship.
  • Must be able to collaborate in US hubs (NY, SF, or Seattle) at least two days per week.
  • Strong CS fundamentals and knowledge of at least one programming language.
  • Excellent communication and eagerness to learn.

Responsibilities

  • Tackle an end-to-end engineering challenge aligned to team goals.
  • Ship code within the first weeks and iterate quickly.
  • Collaborate with a mentor to scope, design, and execute a project.
  • Work with a strong team of professionals and daily learning opportunities.
  • Gain experience shipping features to millions of users and using APIs/frameworks.

THE OPPORTUNITY

To achieve our ambitious goals, we’re looking for Software Engineering Interns to join our Engineering team for three months in summer 2027. Interns in our Engineering organization will work on various projects spanning front-end, back-end, full-stack, security, and mobile engineering. In this role, the intern will help Superhuman tackle some of our most interesting technical challenges and gain real-world experience shipping features to millions of users. Our engineers and researchers are empowered to innovate and discover technical breakthroughs that directly shape our product strategy. As a Software Engineering Intern, you will:
  • Work on an end-to-end Engineering challenge that directly relates to your team’s high-level goals.
  • Ship code within your first few weeks!
  • Iterate quickly in a fast-paced environment and leverage your unique perspective to provide valuable feedback on product direction.
  • Partner with a mentor to scope, design, and execute on a fully formed project over the duration of your internship.
  • Collaborate with a strong team of professionals from whom you can learn on a daily basis, especially with a mentor.
  • Get your hands on a variety of APIs, frameworks, tools, coding agentsa nd programming languages.
  • Learn from all the challenges that come from shipping a product to tens of millions of daily active users.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Can collaborate in person at one of our US hubs (NY, SF, or Seattle) at least two days per week.
  • Is available for the entire duration of a twelve-week program.
  • Is currently enrolled in a full-time, degree-seeking program and in the process of obtaining a bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field.
  • Has strong computer science fundamentals: CS fundamentals can come from being self‑taught, previous internships, what you’ve learned at school, passion projects, and more. However you got there, it’s great for us!
  • Has proficiency in at least one programming language (Superhuman’s Engineering tech stack includes Java, TypeScript, JavaScript, C#, Python or Go, but feel free to apply if your specialty is different!).
  • Demonstrates strong communication skills, especially as it relates to technical collaboration.
  • Is excited to learn!
COMPENSATION

The expected pay for this position is $50.00 USD/hour and may be modified in the future.
