Position Description:

McKesson’s Undergraduate Intern Program provides an opportunity to experience the healthcare industry first‑hand and apply academic knowledge in a real‑world software engineering environment. Through project‑based work across key business initiatives, you will gain hands‑on experience developing and testing software solutions, including responsible applications of artificial intelligence and machine learning. You will collaborate with cross‑functional teams, build a professional network, and strengthen the technical and interpersonal skills needed to succeed in a dynamic and growing business.

Undergraduate Intern Program Details:

Paid Internship. Full‑time work. Position is located in Irving TX, Columbus OH, & Pittsburgh PA. No company sponsored housing, relocation, visa sponsorship or Green Card assistance available.

The intern will be assigned a project‑focused opportunity aligned with a current priority within the McKesson Pharmacy Systems Engineering team. The work may include designing, developing, testing, or evaluating software and AI‑enabled capabilities that improve engineering productivity, operational workflows, or user experiences. This is a hands‑on opportunity to apply software engineering, data, and responsible AI practices in a dynamic and growing business. The internship program also provides networking, access to executives, structured performance, coaching, and fun activities!

Qualifications:

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• Must be currently enrolled in a degree program for the duration of the internship to be eligible.
• 3.0 minimum GPA.
• Must be currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program applicable to Software Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or a related technical field and entering your Junior or Senior year.
• Coding experience in JavaScript, Python, or another programming or scripting language.
• Understanding of relational databases, SQL queries, data structures, and software development fundamentals.

ADDITIONAL KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

• Willingness to learn, develop, and contribute in an agile development environment.
• Experience with using AI‑assisted development tools to improve software quality and engineering efficiency coursework, projects, or hands‑on exposure to artificial intelligence, machine learning, generative AI, or natural language processing.
• Energetic and curious self‑starter who brings interpersonal skills, sound judgment, and creative problem‑solving to the team.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Compensation and Benefits:

This is determined by several factors, including performance, experience and skills, equity, regular job market evaluations, and geographical markets. The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations. In addition to base pay, other compensation, such as an annual bonus or long‑term incentive opportunities may be offered.

Our Base Pay Range for this position $17.33 - $28.88.
