Job summary

Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories seeks a Software Engineering Intern to join our Engineering Services team. This internship offers hands-on design, implementation, and testing of software tools for power system protection and control, with on-site work in Boise, ID.

Ideal candidates are CS students with at least one year of coursework completed, graduating in May or December 2028, and able to work full-time in summer and part-time during the school year.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Computer Science or equivalent degree with at least one year of coursework completed.
• Graduating in May or December 2028.
• Able to work on-site in Boise, ID full-time in the summer and part-time during the school year.
• Experience with Python and C#.
• Understanding of digital logic and Boolean equations.
• Optional experience with VBA, Java, Perl, Ruby and C++.
• Able to learn new software and interact with various APIs.

Responsibilities

• Supporting SEL's software development process.
• Implementing software design and automated scripts.
• Verifying that software meets requirements.
• Providing support to engineering staff as needed.
