Job summary

The Kendall Group in Lansing, MI is offering a 10-12 week paid Software Engineering Internship designed to give hands-on experience by assisting with configuration, programming, project execution, and problem-solving across the Software Engineering function.

Interns will own one or more projects from start to finish, work with a dedicated mentor, and gain exposure to real-world engineering practices while contributing tangible value to the business.

Qualifications

  • Pursuing an associates, bachelor's or graduate degree in computer science, software engineering, or related field; Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • Analytics/Computer Skills: knowledge of configuration and programming, organization skills, and detail-oriented approach
  • Physical, Mental and Visual Skills: ability to see, talk and hear; sit for extended periods in an office environment

Responsibilities

  • Support meaningful, real-world projects by assisting with configuration, programming, project execution, and problem-solving across Software Engineering
  • Own and deliver one or more projects from start to finish during the internship
  • Work with a dedicated manager/trainer and a Kendall internship coordination team
  • Gain exposure to foundational Software Engineering principles and participate in corporate initiatives

Role Summary:

The Software Engineering Intern will support meaningful, real-world projects by assisting with configuration, programming, project execution, and problem-solving activities across the Software Engineering function. This role provides hands-on experience working with engineering professionals while contributing to projects that deliver tangible value to the business.

What you can expect:

The Kendall Group offers a 10-12 week paid internship program where you are provided with the experience and knowledge essential for a career within Software Engineering. This is a project-based internship, where each intern will own and deliver a project or multiple projects from start to finish during their time with The Kendall Group. Each project will be addressing a gap within the function and driving tangible value for the business. This program has been highly successful at giving valuable experience to students as well as providing potential long-term opportunities within the company.

This unique program allows individuals the opportunity for direct exposure to foundational Software Engineering principles and work alongside Software Engineering professionals. Our internship program is designed to ensure you have an optimal experience by doing real world work that is meaningful to our business and customers. You will have a dedicated manager/ trainer, personal coach, and regular meetings with a member of the internship coordination team. You will have the opportunity to experience our passion about giving back to the community by participating in a Kendall Charitable Giving Event. During your internship at Kendall, you'll have the chance to meet and familiarize yourself with our executive and senior leadership team members, as well as gain exposure to the various business units and departments that make up our organization.

Location:

Must be flexible to work onsite most, if not all, days. Some remote or hybrid opportunities may be considered.

What you'll need:
  • Education:Pursuing an associates, bachelor's or graduate degree at an accredited institution in computer science, software engineering, computer programming, or related field; Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • Analytics/Computer Skills A well-rounded skill set including knowledge of configuration and programming, organization skills, and the general nature of being detail-oriented
