Job summary

Saab, Inc.'s Surveillance Software team in Syracuse, NY is seeking a Software Engineering Co-Op for Summer 2027 (May–August). You will gain hands-on experience in real-world air traffic management software while contributing to safer aviation systems.

You'll collaborate on software development using C++, Python, or Java, with Linux/Unix environments, and participate in design, testing, and code reviews. A competitive hourly wage applies, plus a housing sign-on bonus for qualifying candidates.

Qualifications

• Enrollment in an accredited degree program, with a major in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Software Engineering
• Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better
• Must have completed Sophomore year or greater
• U.S. citizen; may require government security investigation for access to classified information

Software Engineering Co-Op (Summer 2027)

Saab, Inc.'s Surveillance Software is currently looking for motivated, creative, inquisitive, and talented Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Computer Engineering college students for a Summer 2027 (May-August 2027) co-op/internship.

The Software Engineering Co-Op will develop their skills and put their education into practice on real-world products while making significant contributions to a safer society. Candidates will actively participate in the software development for air traffic management systems in use at today's airports.

Compensation Range: $20.27-$22.30/hr

In addition to a competitive hourly rate, Saab Inc. offers a sign-on bonus to off-set housing expenses for Co-Ops residing outside the typical office commuting distance.

The compensation range provided is a general guideline. When extending an offer, Saab, Inc. considers factors including (but not limited to) the role and associated responsibilities, location, and market and business considerations, as well as the candidate's work experience, key skills, and education/training.
