Job summary

Salesforce in San Francisco seeks an experienced Software Engineering Architect to design and build integration and deployment solutions on the MuleSoft Platform. You will lead architectural design, set standards, and mentor engineers while collaborating with product and other architects to align technical designs with business goals.

You will drive cloud-native initiatives, evaluate new technologies, and ensure high availability, scalability, and secure deployments across Salesforce ecosystems.

Qualifications

• 15+ years in software development with 8+ years in a leadership/architect role.
• Hands-on expertise in designing complex integration solutions.
• Strong knowledge of containers and Kubernetes.
• Expertise in enterprise integration patterns, microservices, RESTful APIs, and event-driven systems.
• Proficient in at least one major language (Java, Go, Python, Node.js) and cloud infra (AWS/GCP/Azure).
• Experience with CI/CD, DevOps, and IaC tooling is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead architectural design and strategy for large-scale MuleSoft-based solutions.
• Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and roadmap input for engineering teams.
• Collaborate with product and other architects to translate requirements into robust designs.

Salesforce is seeking an innovative and experienced Software Engineering Architect to join our dynamic team. This role is a unique opportunity to design and build the future of integration and application deployment by leveraging the power of the Salesforce ecosystem, specifically focusing on our MuleSoft Platform platform. You will be instrumental in architecting scalable, resilient, and high-performance solutions that empower our customers to connect their data, apps, and devices.

What You'll Actually Be Doing

• Architectural Design & Strategy: Lead the architectural design and development of large-scale, enterprise-grade solutions on the MuleSoft platforms. Define best practices, reusable patterns, and technical standards for our engineering teams.
• Technical Leadership: Serve as the subject matter expert for MuleSoft, providing technical guidance, mentorship, and oversight to senior engineers and development teams. Drive technical roadmap discussions and influence product direction.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with product managers, engineering leads, and other architects to translate business requirements into robust technical designs. Ensure seamless integration between MuleSoft, and the core Salesforce platform.
• Innovation & Prototyping: Stay at the forefront of cloud-native technologies, integration patterns, and PaaS/iPaaS trends. Lead proof-of-concept projects and prototyping efforts to evaluate new technologies and validate architectural approaches.
• Performance & Scalability: Define and oversee non-functional requirements, ensuring solutions are built for high availability, scalability, security, and performance. Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical challenges in production environments.

You're Our Person If…

• 15+ years of software development experience, with at least 8+ years in a technical leadership or architect role.
• Deep, hands-on expertise designing complex integration solutions.
• Strong understanding of containers and kubernetes
• Expertise in enterprise integration patterns, microservices architecture, RESTful APIs, and event-driven systems.
• Strong proficiency in at least one major programming language (e.g., Java, Go, Python, Node.js).
• Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, Azure) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Even Better If…

• Salesforce Certified MuleSoft Platform Architect certification.
• Experience with other parts of the Salesforce ecosystem (e.g., Core Platform, Experience Cloud, Tableau).
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and infrastructure-as-code (e.g., Terraform).
• Experience designing multi-tenant SaaS platforms.
