Job summary

Netflix – Software Engineer is a role focused on delivering the Netflix TV application using a hybrid C++/JavaScript (V8) stack. You will architect UI/UX improvements across TVs and streaming devices and design automated pipelines for faster updates.

The candidate should have strong JS/TS experience, front-end framework familiarity, and embedded-device know‑how, plus capable collaboration and communication skills.

Qualifications

Minimum 4 years of production coding experience in JavaScript/TypeScript.
Experience with HTML5 and CSS3 and modern front-end frameworks (React, Angular) is beneficial.
Strong networking knowledge (REST, WebSockets, SSE, PUB/SUB).
Hands-on experience with building apps for embedded devices such as smart TVs.
Excellent communication skills and ability to influence product direction.

Responsibilities

Develop and qualify the Netflix TV application using a hybrid C++/JavaScript (V8) stack.
Architect scalable solutions for UI/UX improvements on TVs, streaming devices, and gaming consoles.
Design and implement automated pipelines to accelerate software updates on customer devices.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical challenges.
Write automated tests and follow TDD practices using frameworks such as Chai, Mocha/Jest.
