Job summary

Bitwise is seeking a motivated Software Engineer with an interest in AI to join the SOAR organization. You will work on AI-driven tools that streamline readiness, gather requirements with training staff, and develop capabilities that impact mission readiness.

You’ll build AI workflows, test components, and contribute across the full development lifecycle. The role emphasizes hands-on AI work, including Skills/MCP server integrations, coding in Python/C++, and collaboration with senior engineers

Qualifications

• 3+ years of relevant experience with a B.S. in a technical discipline, or 7+ years of relevant experience without a degree
• Proficiency in at least one scripting or programming language (Python or Bash preferred)
• Understanding of version control (Git), testing, and debugging
• Basic knowledge of operating systems and networking concepts
• Familiarity with AI/LLM tools and applying them to automate tasks
• Ability to write clear technical documentation
• Strong communication skills and willingness to learn from SMEs
• Knowledge of CNE/CNO operations and cyber mission tradecraft
• Experience or coursework with AI harnesses and agentic workflows (Skills or MCP servers)
• Exposure to systems engineering concepts from design to delivery
• Experience with C++
• Familiarity with LLM prompt engineering, RAG
• Familiarity with web frameworks (React, TypeScript) for user-facing tools
• Experience with TAO/CNO training pipelines
• Exposure to JQS or other training/certification documents

Responsibilities

• Participate in discussions with training staff to capture requirements
• Implement and test AI-driven components to streamline readiness
• Configure AI harnesses and MSP/Skills servers connecting AI workflows to data
• Contribute across the development lifecycle from prototyping to delivery
• Build and maintain automation scripts using Python and Bash
• Assist in drafting and maintaining JQS and TQS documentation
• Write technical guides and training materials for adoption of AI tools
• Learn and apply coding standards and review processes
