Job summary

Lockheed Martin Space in Littleton, CO seeks an experienced Software Engineer to contribute to missile defense technology and software lifecycle activities. You will work on requirements analysis, object-oriented design, coding, unit tests, integration, and delivery support in a facility with special access.

Travel up to 5% to Huntsville for planning. Requirements include C/C++ proficiency, RTOS experience (GreenHill or VxWorks), and ability to obtain a Secret Clearance.

Qualifications

  • Experience with programming languages such as C and C++.
  • RTOS experience (GreenHill or VxWorks) is required.
  • Experience with full software life cycle development including SW design, architecture and integration.

The Lockheed Martin Next Generation Interceptor (NGI) team is seeking experienced Software Engineers to be part of a team developing missile defense technology that could forever change our ability to deter and respond to adversity

Lockheed Martin Space is seeking a full time Software Engineer. In this role, you will support the software engineering lifecycle following the program Software Development Plan (SDP) to include requirements analysis, object oriented analysis & design, code & unit test, integration, and support to formal test/delivery.

The successful candidate will have experience and/or knowledge of languages such as C or C++. This position is located at a facility that requires special access.

Travel up to 5% to Huntsville for Planning activities.

Plans, conducts, and coordinates software development activities. Designs, develops, documents, tests, and debugs software that contains logical and mathematical solutions to business/mission problems or questions in computer language for solutions by means of data processing equipment. Applies the appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the development life cycle. Applies knowledge of computer hardware and software, subject matter to be programmed in business/mission applications, information processing techniques used, and information gathered from system users to develop software. Corrects program errors, prepares operating instructions, compiles documentation of program development, and analyzes system capabilities to resolve questions of program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques, and controls. Ensures software standards are met. Proficient in AI prompting as it applies to this position and practice.

Basic Qualifications
  • Experience with programming languages such as C, C++
  • Real Time Operating System (RTOS) experience – (GreenHill or VxWorks)
  • Standard teaming: Ability to work with multi-disciplined teams
  • Experience with full software life cycle development including SW design, architecture and integration & test
  • Ability to obtain a Secret Clearance
Desired Skills
  • Knowledge of Agile Software Development
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of Model Base Systems Engineering (MBSE)
  • Previous experience writing and designing to software requirement
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Aerospace Engineering or other related degree program from an accredited college/university

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $135700.00 - $251900.00

Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
