Job summary

A-dec, a leader in dental technology in Newberg, OR, is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for our Azure and React Native team. You will drive development of digital applications, coordinating with cross-functional teams to support IoT devices and cloud-based services.

You will design, implement, and maintain software across platforms, ensuring quality and scalability while adhering to Agile practices and company values.

Qualifications

• Software engineering experience across multiple languages (C/C++, Python, TypeScript).
• Excellent written and oral communication, ability to work independently and in a team.
• Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle.
• Familiarity with software configuration management tools.
• Experience delivering software using Agile processes.
• Experience with Linux or RTOS and UI frameworks/cloud platforms.

Overview

At A-dec, we are dedicated to shaping the future of dentistry by blending mechanical, electrical, and digital innovations. As a Senior Software Engineer on our Azure and React Native team, you will lead aspects of the evolution of digital applications, including design, development, operation, and maintenance. These applications seamlessly integrate an expanding array of IoT devices manufactured or co‑developed by A-dec. You will collaborate with a diverse team of engineers, designers, and product managers while upholding A-dec's core values: people, quality, and user experience.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Independently apply knowledge of software engineering principles to design, code, troubleshoot, and debug software applications.
• Develop new and varied solutions to software problems within A-dec standards and contribute to product design by studying competitive products, customer practices, and identifying customer needs.
• Analyze software issues to determine suitable solutions for prototypes, production, or field failures by establishing and coordinating design reviews with peers and project leads.
• Organize data and prepare documentation for assigned reviews.
• Thoroughly test software, coordinate others on verification tests, and test peer software when necessary.
• Develop and complete all software documentation, working collaboratively with cross‑functional teams to ensure it is complete, accurate, and properly maintained, recording new ideas in the form of flow charts, sequence diagrams, etc.
• May direct the work of drafters, technicians, and others who assist in small projects.

Qualifications

• Ability to develop software requirements and apply design methodologies.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills with proven ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment while following established procedures.
• Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle.
• Understanding of software configuration management tools.
• Bachelor’s degree or relevant experience, plus at least five years of increasing‑complexity software engineering experience.
• Software development experience using C/C++, Python, TypeScript, and other programming languages.
• Experience working with Linux or a real‑time operating system (RTOS).
• Familiarity with UI application frameworks and/or cloud platforms.
• Experience delivering software using Agile development processes.
